Set in the secret ICE-1 facility buried deep beneath the Antarctic ice, Critical Shift places players in command of a squad responding to a silent distress call. What began as scientific research went horribly wrong, triggering time paradoxes, lethal anomalies, and an escape of terrifying entities. Penned in collaboration with Guiltythree (author of Shadow Slave), players must explore miles of subterranean quarters and labs, decipher secrets, and lead a team of 11 distinct agents through a web of betrayal, mutated hosts, and rogue AI constructs.

💥 GAMEPLAY FEATURES

Isometric Tactical Combat (XCOM-Inspired): Master turn-based grid tactics from a clean isometric perspective where weapon effective range, line of sight, cover, and positioning dictate survival. Direct combat mechanics eliminate RNG misses ("no 99% misses"), putting pure strategy at the forefront.

Paranormal Sci-Fi & SCP Atmosphere (Control-Inspired): Investigate strange, reality-bending anomalies, containment breaches, and cosmic horrors within an eerie, isolated Antarctic research complex.

Survival Horror Exploration (Resident Evil-Inspired): Traverse over 30 handcrafted levels with scarce resources. Real-time exploration, dark environments, and tight inventory management force you to make every bullet and medkit count.

Faction Manipulation & Environmental Control: Use noise, darkness, and environmental traps to trick rival factions, including mutated hive-mind puppets, rogue AI-created hybrids, and desperate human survivors, into fighting each other.

Deep Roster & Customization: Command and customize 11 playable agents, upgrading weapons, skill trees, and gear to adapt to evolving paranormal threats.

Cinematic Narrative: Delivers over 40 hours of story-driven campaign gameplay with 30 levels enriched by over an hour of 2D hand-painted cutscenes and more than two hours of motion-captured sequences.
